Need a hand?

Let's get you playing.

Start with the message you can see. Keep your instance and its backups while checking an update or launch problem.

Installation and sign-in

I'm new. Which download do I need?

Start with the installation page. Prism is the launcher; the IronGrave pack contains the game modifications. The main download includes the complete pack and updater; the legacy updater-only download is for an existing instance.

Where do I sign into Minecraft?

Sign in through Prism using the account you use for Minecraft Java Edition. You don't need to enter your Microsoft password on this website or send it to me.

The installer asks for an instance folder.

In Prism, right-click the IronGrave instance and choose Folder. The instance folder contains instance.cfg and mmc-pack.json. Use that folder, rather than its inner .minecraft folder. Close Prism and Minecraft before running the installer.

Windows has blocked a download or shown a warning.

Check that you used the download linked here, then send me the exact warning. Don't disable antivirus or bypass the warning just to get the pack running.

Update and launch errors

It says “Retrying a timed-out update connection”.

Let the retry finish. If launch still stops, check your connection and try again later. An intact, verified installation can sometimes use its installed files while the update service is unavailable; a first installation or damaged pack may still need a working download.

It says “Unmanaged file differs” or “Managed file changed locally”.

The updater found a file it couldn't safely replace. Keep the file and copy the complete error, including its path. Send that to me with your installed version. Don't delete the instance or change files at random to get past it.

It says a signature or download integrity check failed.

The downloaded update wasn't accepted. Keep the message and try again once your connection is stable. If it repeats, send me the log. Don't turn off verification. The updater may retain a verified installed version instead of using the rejected download.

The update asks me to restart Prism.

Close Prism completely, reopen it and launch IronGrave again. A loader update can need that extra restart before Prism uses the new version.

The game opens, but joining the server fails.

Check that you're launching your usual IronGrave instance and let its updater finish. Send me the exact disconnect message and pack version if it still fails. That message is more useful than repeatedly reinstalling.

Recovery without starting over

The updater download includes Rollback.cmd and Resume Updates.cmd. If a recent update caused a problem, send me the error first so I can help decide whether rollback is appropriate.

Rollback uses the updater's local backups and pauses further updates. It restores managed client changes; it doesn't rewind the server world or guarantee that an older client can join the current server. Resume Updates allows updates again when you're ready.

Close Minecraft and Prism before using recovery controls. Keep the updater folder and its backups. Disabling the updater is not a repair for a damaged installation.

What to send me

Upload a crash log

  • What you were doing: installing, launching, joining, trading or fighting.
  • The exact message: copy the error, or send a readable screenshot.
  • Your pack version and whether the updater finished.
  • For gameplay problems: the item or mob name, dimension and what you expected to happen.

Finding the right log

For the current updater, copy the output shown in Prism or the installer window. For a Minecraft crash, open the instance's game folder and look for logs/latest.log and the newest report under crash-reports, if one was created.

If you're testing the new quiet updater, its error window offers Open Log. Its logs are inside the game folder under irongrave-updater/logs.

Check logs for private information before sharing them. Send the relevant log rather than your whole instance, account files or passwords.

Stuck in the game?

The progression guide covers gear, spells, world tiers and the End eyes. If an item still seems out of reach, send me its name and the routes you've tried.
